Sunday

Where is this summer going? Is it really already the 22nd of June? That means that the year is almost half over. Time is going so much faster the older I get. The past couple weekends we have been at my parents farm. They have a pond by their house, so Mason loves to go there and 'scoopy' in the sand and fish. Both weekends have been perfect weekends. Last weekend, Fathers Day weekend, are when the following photos were taken. Mason got a new toy for the pond

He is so serious when he is playing in the sand. Here he is making a 'road' with his road grater, and those tees are fences he is putting up

Here is the 'fence' finished. And his Dekalb hat says it all!!!! Guess you can't read it in the small photo. It says 'Born to Farm'

The next couple are of Daddy with each of the kids. He had to work all weekend, (hence why the white shirt isn't so white ) so he didn't get to spend much time with the kids, but I did capture a few photos of him with each of them

Do you really think you are gonna get those marshmallows toasted that far from the fire Mason?

This is the first time Mason has ever let me bury him. He usually gets a little sand on him and then can't sit still long enough to be completely covered. Course, didn't last long. The minute I put the last of the sand on him, he broke free.

Hey look, I had him cross his legs before I buried him. OK, not really. He just doesn't know how to put his shoes on the right feet!!!!!

Mason wanted to ride with Uncle Pete on the tractor why he mowed some grass. So he rode around for about 30 minutes with Pete. They got back to the cabin and this is what we saw!!!

That is the boy that has never napped just anywhere. Guess he really loves 'farming'!! I had to throw in these last photos of Mason and Mallory with Uncle Pete and Aunt DD (Darcy), my sister and BIL. For some reason I can't get Mason to look at the camera, so this was the best I was gonna get. The second one is better of Mallory, but Mason was missing in action for that photo

We are looking forward to having family in town the next couple of weeks. My Aunt Mary (dad's sister) and cousin Amy are flying in from SC and NC for a week. YEAH!!!! (Wish you were coming too Uncle Marley) Its always GREAT to see them as we don't get to see them too often. And of course they are getting to meet Miss Mallory for the first time too. We also have extended family coming in over the 4th of July, so will be fun to catch up with everyone.

Our basement is now dry. Of course it isn't back to normal yet, and not sure that it ever will be. I can now do laundry and get to the computer and sew something if i really need to. Hopefully after the busy next couple of weeks, we can get things back to somewhat of a livable basement again. I'm just so thankful that we have our house and it isn't filled with mud and junk like so many others here in Iowa. And wouldn't you know it, we could use a real good soaking rain! Something I didn't think I'd be saying this soon after the last mess. The ground has huge cracks in it, and I'm having to water my garden and flowers.

The Great Iowa Tractor Ride is in town this week. We hope to get out there a couple times to see all the tractors. Course Mason is gonna want to ride on all of them. He is a farm boy through and through. Looking at tractors all day long would be an ideal day for him. Its good daddy has someone to enjoy those things with.
