Mason's quilt....

Mason has wanted a bed quilt for quite awhile now, and I decided that in April 2011 I would start cutting out fabrics for his quilt. He picked out the colors he wanted, and I found a pattern that my friend Jean wrote that I thought would be perfect for a boy quilt.  It took me til September 2012 to actually finish the quilt.

He loves it!!!!  Love the geuine smile I got out of him in the next 2 photos

Straight line quilting.. and learned a few lessons on this one.. I should have started in the middle and worked my way out...to help with my imperfect basting...

For the back of the quilt, I took all the left over pieces and blocks and  then had to buy a little bit more to actually finish it. I find that when I make a quilt with fabric, I don't really want to use the fabric in other quilts, so putting it on the back is a great alternative and way to use up every last scrap AND not have to break the bank and buy more fabric!!!  Madden is liking the quilt too

Mason's 8th Birthday

How is it that my oldest child is already turning 8??  The years are flying by, and my little guy, isn't so little anymore.  He loves baseball, and wanted a baseball themed birthday. The cake was to have plastic men on it, but the USPS decided they would rather hold it at the PO til the day AFTER the birthday party, so we didn't get them in time for all the photos :(  Lesson learned.. don't wait til a week before the event to have something mailed to you and expect to get it

Madden's 1st Birthday

With the boys having birthdays 4 days apart, it was just easier to have a joint birthday party. I'm sure some day this won't work out well, but for now the 1 year old could care less!!

6 months old!!!!!

Not sure how it happened so quickly but it did. Peanut #3 is now 6 months old!!! Fun to see how much he has grown in the last 6 months. Developing a personality more and more every day.

Some things my 6 month old is doing these days:
  • Eating 5-6 oz of formula 5 times a day.
  • Waking some nights between 2-4am, yet other nights sleeping til 5am, then goes back to sleep til around 6:30am
  • Loves to scream
  • Blows bubbles and makes this funny little puffy cheek face
  • Will play with toys and chews on about anything that will fit in his mouth
  • Still no teeth
  • Still not eating baby food. Continues to use his tongue to push it out.
  • Weighs 18lbs 3oz
  • Height 27"
  • Loves to be entertained by his older siblings
  • Takes about 3 cat naps a day.. anywhere from 20-40 minutes
  • Does so much better in his car seat these days then he did the first few months of life
  • Rolls wherever he wants to go
  • Gets up on all fours and wants to crawl, but just pushes forward and does a 'belly flop'. Don't think it will be long til he figures out how to crawl though
  • Loves to be entertained, yet still needs quite a bit of 'attention' from someone to keep him from crying
  • Wearing 6-9month clothing, closer to the 9mo size than 6 mo though
  • Still cloth diapering about 80% of the time. Night time we use disposables and when we are gonna be gone from home for longer than a half day. Loving Fuzzibunz diapers and BumGenius diapers
  • Can stink up a room with his diaper. Pretty sure he would win any contest on smelliest diapers!! In all the diapers I've changed over time, none have smelled as bad as his :(

We are enjoying our little guy and looking forward to what the next 6 months may bring!! Bring on the babyproofing of the home!!!
