Mason got the privilege of riding on a friends boat and tubing for the 1st time this summer. He LOVED it and I'm pretty sure he would be content doing it all the time. This nervous nelly on the other hand, had a hard time not freaking out about all the little things. I ended up leaving Mallory home with Tony, as Tony had just recently thrown his back out and would have been miserable on the bumpy boat and 100+ heat index day. I only had Mason to worry about, and I know I'm not ready for Mallory to be out there too.. one to worry about was plenty.
Mason's response after his FIRST tubing experience~~~
We went to the Hickory Grove beach area for the first time this summer the beginning of August. I'm only wishing we would have discovered that beach a long time ago.. can't beat FREE, sand, FREE, water, FREE, and happy kids!!!! The could have stayed all day, had I not been dying in the heat on the beach
I walked into bed one night, went to turn on my lamp, only to find this!!! Mason loves to play cars and dinosaurs and tractors on our bed, and he's found a new way to display his dinos
What would summer in Iowa be without this
Pa had a birthday the end of July.. and of course we had to celebrate with Angel food cake and ice cream.. just wouldn't be a birthday at Granny's house without both!!!!
The kids love riding on the Ranger with Granny A and Pa...
Mason's patience is getting a little better.. BUT if he doesn't catch any fish for quite some time, he gives up... but Granny on the other hand, she could sit there all day and fish away
This is how you could find pregnant Aunt DD and Mallory on most weekend afternoons this summer at the pond (of course, when it WASN'T 100 degree heat index days).. napping away in the kid tent!!!!
I saw this cloud formation on our way back to Boone one weekend.. was just too cool not to take a picture
