May was basically the start of park play dates with friends. The kids love the park, and we really like Bandshell park in Ames because it is so shaded.
For my birthday and mothers day, I bought myself an I Touch, and the kids have taken a great liking to it. Mallory now has a few games that she can play on it, and she will take it to her room and learn her colors, put puzzles together, do a matching game AND earn a sticker or too!!!
Mason started his 1st year of baseball, in the form of Tball. We were a little worried that he might not like Tball since he really enjoys having someone pitch to him. We do have a plastic T, but he wants nothing to do with it and prefers to have daddy pitch to him I still can't believe my little boy is all uniformed up and playing ball. Seems just like yesterday I was wearing those nice comfortable knit pants (NOT) and getting my cleats and glove and heading out the door to go play some softball. Here he is getting ready for picture day
I found a garage sale in which they were giving away a bike for FREE!! Granted, it has a little rust and has clearly been used, but who can pass up a free bike AND a tweety bird bike to boot!!! Mallory loves it, and if only her legs were about 2" longer she could really peddle around and and around. I think she is gonna have to wait til next summer to really be able to ride
My little girl is 2 1/2, which means its about time to really start the potty training phase. With Mason, I stressed and stressed, so I said with this one I was just gonna wait til she was ready. Well, I think if I really waited til she was fully ready, it wouldn't be til she was in elementary school. That being said, after a few days of streaking around the house, she kind of got the concept down. It has to be her idea, and when it is, things are great. She still doesn't tell me when she has to go, but as long as we get to the potty every 1 1/2 hrs or so, she is usually still dry. She will even sleep thru the night and her naps and stay dry. its just making sure that I get to her as soon as she makes a sound, to get her to the potty.
