Today is our bimonthly MOPS Monday, so Mason gets to get out and play with other little kiddos his age, and Mallory gets to be with the other babies and grandmas. Mason always has a great time and looks forward to the boys and girls there. And since it was such a nice early afternoon, we were outside most of the day in the sandbox and on his big wheel.
My new found craft has been tatting (like a I really need another hobby). My aunt LeaAnn and I had taken a mini class at the Iowa State Fair a few years back on shuttle tatting. So we learned the basics there and then I came home and had forgotten everything. But recently the HGTV message board I frequent, HGTV Message Board a member started a thread about Needle Tatting, so that sparked the interest to pull out my shuttles and thread and see what I could do. After a little searching on the net for some videos to refresh my memory on how to shuttle tat, I've figured it out. This was one of the first things I did. Just an angel out of size 10 crochet thread

This one was done with varigated size 80 dmc (the finest thread there is)

The nice thing about tatting is its portable and I don't have to be at my sewing machine to actually make something. Not exactly sure what I'm going to do with the things I'm making, but I'm having fun doing it. I do need to get back to quilting and making bags, but getting to my sewing machine is a harder task now with the two little ones.
Our week is off to a great start. Now if the weather can be nice atleast part of the day the rest of the week, there will be one happy little boy (and mom *S*)

Ok.. guess i need to change my size comparison to a Nickel!!! I had actually thought of that, but figured more people relate with a quarter then a nickel, that is unless you are one of the Nikkel's!! :)
