Both kids had a fun day at their class parties and reading and opening all the goodies they got from classmates. Mason got lots of baseball card style valentines and Mallory got a lot of the princess and dog/cat tattoo valentines. Goes to show what is popular with the kids these days. Mallory did have one other 'homemade' valentine, and all of Mason's were store bought. Kind of surprises me in the day and age of Pinterest and all the great ideas there are out there.

December 12, 2012.....

While I didn't do anything out of the ordinary on this the 12th day of the 12th month of the 12th year.... My tender hearted mason did. We got home from awana tonight and he wouldn't get out of the van. He wanted to wait for his sister to go inside. Once she did, he proceeded to show me the doll he purchased for her with his awana bucks! I then asked to see what he bought himself, and he said 'nothing'. He really is listening this Christmas season to all the talk that giving is better than receiving. Talk about making my heart swell with pride. He did that all unprompted by any of us. If y'all remember a couple years ago he did the same thing at awana around Christmas time. His sister is going to be so happy Christmas morning and I have a feeling, mason is going to be happier!! Love my kiddos!

L: Did you like the note I left in your lunch box Mason?
M: yea, but i didn't show anyone else it. I was too embarrassed
L: You are embarrassed cause your momma loves you?
M: No I'm not. Just embarrassed. I am happy I have a mom that loves me
L: Yea some kids don't have a mom or dad to love them
M: Yea they have parents with lots and lots of wrinkles and red skin
L: What??? Do I have lots of wrinkles?
M: Nope perfectly smooth mom (pointing to my forehead). They have wrinkles cause all they do is yell at their kids

♥ my boy.. alway knows the right thing to say to his momma... and yet strange the correlation he has betweeen the wrinkles and yelling (didn't want to tell him he might actually be on to something there ;) )

Christmas 2012

We have been cutting down a fresh tree for atleast the last 8 Christmas'. This year was no different. We did wait a little too long so the 'best' trees were already picked from our local grower. Next year we will be sure and get out in early November to tag our tree!!!



We are loving the Lego City Advent calendar. This is the 2nd year we have done this and the kids seem to really look forward to opening each box daily. 




 

Mallory FINALLY got close enough to Jill to get her picture taken. Not sure why Mallory is so 'afraid' of Jill, but I'm glad to know that she is getting better about that fear and that she is getting closer to Jill. We love Jill like she is family!!

Had a good Christmas on Sunday Dec 23rd with the Nikkel family. I can't seem to find my photos for that day :( .  Spent Christmas eve with my family and then also spent Christmas day with my family. I ended up not feeling well so spent most of Christmas afternoon and evening in bed. Took a couple days to feel a lot better, but it didn't take me out for too long thankfully.  Kids all stayed healthy durin the holidays.
